perfect timing
I was walking with Sharon through the electronic section of Wal-Mart yesterday looking for a flash drive that she needed for class. As we walk past the isles we look down searching for the right section and see the row of TVs facing us. They are all playing the same clip of the Saints running out to the field. Still, moving from row to row and watching them, I say to Sharon full of pride, “Look at those good looking boys”. As I say it, we’ve made it to a new isle which happened to be occupied by two guys from school…

copper
to those of you who are asking how my summer is going:
i am having a great time here in Copperopolis. God is really moving in the people here. i have been able to be a part of so many activities. we just finished a week of camp and are now in the middle of VBS week. we've done prayer walks and led countless bible studies. we lead a young adults group, a youth group, a girls group, and a guys group that all meet weekly. and we help every monday at celebrate recovery. and of course there's the sunday morning stuff. i was part of the copperopolis day parade all-church choir and attended our churches baptism at the lake. we made a trip yosimite (so beautiful). we've been involved in much more and i could go into detail about each of these and tell how God is moving in each of them, but it's just so much! He is so amazing! i love being a part of what He is doing here. He constantly teaches me more about who He is and who i am in Him. i have already been blessed so much.
anyway, that's kinda what i've been up to...

to myself
To myself at 7:
Hey little miss. You are so blessed to be where you are. God planted you in a great family, in a great place, at the perfect time for you. His predetermined plan for your life is designed just for you. Only His divine oversight could have worked everything out for you in this way. You are just starting your walk with God now, but you will look back amazed at what and who He put in your life that proved invaluable to a situation later. He wants to (and will) use your life to bring Him glory. Everything you are going through now, made me who I am today. Thanks.
To myself at 16:
Casey! You made it to high school. First of all, don’t worry too much about Spanish. It’s not your strongest area, but maybe one day I’ll start to figure it out. Thank you for staying away from all those silly boys. They still haven’t turned out to be good for much :) I think for the most part you never did get caught up in a lot of the drama that so many high school girls can be consumed with. That’s good, but you still have a long way to go. Take advantage of all the Christian men and women at Eastwood that our pouring their wisdom into you. Life is a journey and the best is yet to come. You are going to love college. And remember, everything you are going through now, made me who I am today. Thanks.
To myself at 21:
Hey Chica! You are going to turn 21 in two weeks! And what better place, than in Copperopolis as a summer missionary? You have tasted and seen that the LORD is good. Don’t ever stop following after Him, in fact, you could probably pick up the pace. You can’t do anything about the past or the future. You have today, Casey. Make the most of it.
To myself at 35:
Hey old lady! Ha. No, you’re still a spring chicken. I really don’t have a clue where you are living or what you are doing. I hope it’s something exciting and you’re living in God’s will. If you could write back I could find out what I’m doing in 6 months after I graduate. That would be nice to know. But I’m sure God told you when you needed to know. I hope that you are much more mature than I am now and that you have been following hard after my Jesus. I hope you are still close with all my college friends. I hope who I live out in these next years turns out as a blessing for you. Everything I am going through now will make you who you are.
To myself at 80:
So, I’ve heard we have 70 or maybe 80 years to live. Since I’m writing a letter to you at 80, I guess I will just have to live at least that long. Perfectly logical. It is hard to think of who I will be at 80. Maybe you are a lot like who I am now. Much more experiences and wisdom, but the same general personality. That must be how it works. I’m sure there is so much you could tell me. I wonder if I would believe you. I wonder if you have grandkids. That would mean that you had kids. Hopefully I didn’t mess them up too bad. I hope that when I get to where you are I can look back and say that I lived for the Kingdom and not for my own selfishness. I hope I made you proud.
